If you’re looking for an unusual bar solution for your private party, wedding, festival or corporate event then may we introduce you to our ‘Off the Wagon’ mobile pub! It’s a converted 1974 Bedford TK horsebox that has been modified to provide a fully functional pub, complete with a bar, bar stools, indoor and outdoor seating and tables. There is even a VIP balcony with a table seating 8 people. Outside, the ‘pub garden’ can be completely covered with a canvas canopy and seat up to 24 people or even have an additional bar to increase output. Decorated with vintage brocant, architectural salvage, hops, flowers and festoon lights, the pub looks quirky, cosy and inviting during the day and late into the evening.
It can be a fully stocked bar with chilled draught lagers, draught real ales, spirits and wines. Or, it could be specialist niche bar. For example, a whiskey wagon, a prosecco bar, a cocktail truck or even a juice bar. It is infinitely flexible and can be adapted for your event. The truck is based in Kent. It can travel to anywhere in the UK but it’s old, slow and expensive to run,
so there are costs involved in bringing it to your event. Our pricing is entirely bespoke and is based on your specific requirements.

Our Story
We weren’t actually looking for a Bedford TK when we decided that we wanted to start a mobile pub. But, when we found one tucked behind a garage workshop in Kent we knew that it would be the perfect vehicle for the job. We bought it on the spot! It was in a sorry state and hadn’t been used as a horse box for a few years. The bodywork and metal frame were rusty, the woodwork was stained and covered in lichen and internally it was wet and still loaded with straw, hay and horse s**t. We set to work on it immediately we took delivery.
Once stripped out though, its full potential was revealed and after a little bit of sanding and grinding we saw how sound both the metal and the existing mahogany cladding actually were. A colour change was decided and the emerald green was applied. We had to modify the exiting openings to provide a main entrance and a staff door. The timber steps were made and hex-lock scaffold was used to make the handrails and safety rail around the fold down rear tail. This now formed a ‘VIP’ balcony. A piece of salvage furniture was modified and installed to form the bar and a lager chiller pump system installed under the vehicle. We scoured the markets for other ‘objects’ to add to the vehicle and we found 2 old Castrol oil drums to use as outside tables.
We were keen to not use any plastic or nylon on the project so used canvas, old marquee poles and ropes to create the canopy. We were very pleased with the result. And, it was a runner! It needed some minor work on the engine and new tyres (that were very difficult to find) but it passed its MOT, is plated and is now on the road coming to a party or festival near you!
